Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Chimney Wallstop.
Featured cards
Chimney Wallstop is a death monster that costs 10 mana. It starts with reach and bloodlust.. It learns repair at level 6 and strengthen at level 9. I have this card at level 6, so it has repair.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Aimless and Broken Arrows. This means that all monsters gain the scattershot ability, and no ranged monsters can be used. There is also 34 mana available, and I can choose only fire splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Eternan Brune | 6 | Summoner | -2 armor and gladiator |
Antoid Platoon | 4 | 1st | Shield |
Chimney Wallstop | 10 | 2nd | Reach, Repair, and Bloodlust |
Scorch Fiend | 0 | 3rd | |
Magi of Chaos | 6 | 4th | |
Uraeus | 3 | 5th | Sneak and Poison |
Tenyii Striker | 5 | 6th | Sneak and Dodge |
Total Mana: | 34 |
I use Eternan Brune as my summoner for the -2 armor and gladiator. Antoid Platoon is my tank with shield. Next up is Chimney Wallstop as my backup tank. I have a filler monster in the 3rd spot and one magic monster in the 4th spot. Then I have two sneak monsters, with one of them having poison and the other with dodge to reduce the damage from sneak monsters.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match could go either way. My opponent has two magic monsters so I can lose some of my backline if I am unlucky. I think I can still win because I have the damage advantage though.
Round 3
My opponent lost three monsters while I lost 2. At this point, I think that I have the match won due to the bloodlust stacked on Chimney and the repair ability. The chances of my opponent's magic monster targeting my Chimney isn't that high, so the odds are with me.
I ended up winning this match a few rounds later, as I thought I would. Chimney got stronger with each kill, and the chances of me missing weren't that high.
Conclusion
The battle this time played out exactly how I thought it would. I wasn't expecting the fast magic monsters, but I was lucky enough on the scattershotted magic monsters. It didn't kill off my backline like I expected, and Chimney was able to stay alive until I took out more monsters. I am also glad that my Chimney did not miss any attacks and that damage just added up over time. Overall, there was a chance that I could have lost the match, but I did have the damage advantage. Luckily, the fight worked out as I hoped it would.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
