Checking in on my idle games: Terracore, Golem Overlord and Crownrend

in LeoFinance9 days ago

It's been a while, but I have been playing some idle games on Hive and haven't talked much about it on my blog posts. I have played Terracore and Golem Overlord for quite a while and started Crownrend recently. I thought it would be a good idea to track how well I am doing regarding both of these games over time. I like these games because you don't have to do anything but wait and collect now and then. So, in a way, these games are perfect for someone like me who doesn't have that much time.

Terracore

Terracore is my first idle game, and the UI hasn't really changed. They have removed the previous UI, but I kind of like this one more. Honestly, there hasnt't been many changes to the game so I feel that it's lagging behind. The lastest dev post from the official account is over a year ago. I still show up a few times a day to collect and attack. Other than that, I don't do much.

The price of scrap tokens has dropped quite a bit, and ever since my last idle games update, the price has dropped even further. I am still playing for now, as it doesn't take much time, but it's sad to see.

Golem Overlord

Golem Overlord is the second idle game that I played, and this game is one in which I have already recouped my initial investment. I am still quite active there as I show up twice a day or so to do my attacks and claim. The UI has changed slightly, and a new conquest mode is available. I don't play conquest mode, so not much has changed from my usual pattern of spending a few minutes a day here. Conquest mode did introduce a new token called ANIMA.

The price of PART tokens has seen a price dip since the last time I checked, but its holding up a lot better compared to Terracore's SCRAP. If I consider my earnings per day, it would be around 0.4 Hive per day. I keep at least 80% of that, so I don't get a claim penalty, though.

SHARD has taken a beating ever since ANIMA became more important. It's still decent as I get them from claims. There is no SHARD penalty, so I think the earnings still add up with all of this here. I will skip ANIMA because I am not doing conquest.

Crownrend

Crownrend is a game that came out a few months ago. It's similar to how Terracore and Golemoverlord work with the timer between claims. I have already recouped my initial investment after seeing how badly Terracore suffered, and I am increasing my stats slowly over time as well. I claim a few times a day along with the rest of the games, and I am liking my experience so far.

DENAR is looking decent on the graph, but it's following the same trend as the other tokens. Since it is inflationary, the tokens' value is dropping over time. However, I think it has good potential to be as good or better than Golem Overlord.

Conclusion

These are the three idle games that I am playing. From how things look, Terracore and Crownrend are still decent, but Terracore is looking bad. The lack of updates on Terracore doesn't bode well as the token value continues to slip. Actually, the value is slipping on all of the games as it is inflationary, but Golem Overlord and Crownrend have done some updates within the past few months. So that is what sets them apart from Terracore. I do think that it is nice to earn from a few minutes of work every single day, and making sure to at least recoup my initial investment was a good choice.

Have you started playing Terracore, Crownrend or Golem Overlord yet?

In this type of game, the most important thing is to get in early. That's a winning strategy.

Yea. Getting in early and recouping the initial investment is the best option. It works out better because at least you won't be at a lost if things go bad later.

And to think I was actually planning on investing some of my Hive curation into Terracore. Maybe I'll stick to splinterlands vision. I think these games are a mix of passive earnings and patience. Terracore dropping with no updates is rough, but at least Golem Overlord and Crownrend are still moving. Hope they stay worth the time. I really need to get the right game but maybe it's my strategy I need to work on

It's rough for Terracore, but I hope Golem Overlord/Crownrend go well. They are still doing updates from time to time, so I think they will last. The inflationary nature does hurt the token value over time though.

I hope they last. Web 3 games are still improving so perhaps after a couple of years we may see them dominating the game space

I don't play them, but it's a trend of idle games to see token dump over time

Yea. The token supply keeps inflating and there isn't enough demand in game to use all of that up.
