Brawl Report #132: A great brawl after missing the previous one

in Splinterlands14 days ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I had a good result this time after forgetting to submit my matches in the previous brawl.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There were no free wins this time around and that is the first time seeing that in a long time. My rewards for the brawl were 3,952 merits and 55.462 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild didn't place that great this time around, even though I did well.

Brawl fights

There were 2 that I lost, 4 that I won, and 2 that I won due to surrender. So I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

image.png
You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I lost because of that bloodlust monster in the back. Once my tank went down and that bloodlust stacked, there wasn't anything I could do.

image.png
You can find the second match here. I won this match, but I thought it was a lost cause when I saw all the magic monsters. In the end, focusing on melee was the best choice, and that inspire helped me finish off a few monsters before my opponent could attack.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I won this match, but it was another fight that I thought I would lose. In the end, I didn't miss any attacks, and that barely won me the match.

image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My summoner increased my speed, and I was able to attack first. This let me win the match because I was able to kill off my opponent's monsters faster than he could kill mine.

image.png
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. It's tough to beat Captain Katie when the bloodlust stacks and the speed debuffs hurt.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. My summoner countered my opponent's magic lineup, and my opponent wasn't paying attention to the ruleset. With Fog of War there, putting an opportunity monster is wasting a spot.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 3,952 merits and 55.462 SPS SPS is a good reward for the effort. It was a pretty good brawl this time around, but its too bad that my guild didn't do so great. There were also a few fights that I thought I lost, but won in the end.

You did well except in the first game. The opponent was constantly throwing in the repair ability to repair the card in first place and there was nothing you could do. Good SPS rewards

Yea. Sometimes, you are just outmatched and there isn't much you can do about it.

wow good result here!
