Brawl Report #113: A good brawl this time around

in Splinterlands8 days ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and I did well this time around. I won two of my submitted fights and the free wins carried the rest.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There were 2 free wins in this match because two guild didn't submit someone for a game. My rewards for the brawl were 4,429 merits and 67.044 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. This brawl was a pretty good result for me as I have more wins than losses.

Brawl fights

There were 3 that I lost and one that surrendered. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

image.png
You can find the first match here. I won this match because I took advantage of the ruleset and used flying monsters to avoid the damage from earthquake. I just outlasted my opponent through that.

image.png
You can find the second match here. I won this match and it was a free win. I am not sure why my opponent only went with one monster but maybe they didn't have any monsters available.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. My opponent had way too many magic monsters and the taunt monster tanked my hits while the triage healed it.

image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup again. Possiblius and Coastal Sentry is a deadly combination. The melee monsters just trampled my lineup without me being able to do much.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup again. The speed advantage hurts and I got demolished by my opponent before most of my monsters had a chance to attack.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 4,429 merits and 67.044 SPS is a good reward for the effort. This wasn't a bad brawl. There were 3 free wins and I won two of my submitted matches. I have been losing most of my submitted fights so I am happy to see that I can win at least a few.

Good win. Your first win was actually playing exactly to the Ruleset. Your opponent was mainly relying on the strength of his summoner and quality of his cards overall.

Yea. Playing according to the rulesets gives you an advantage and you should take advantage of that whenever you can.

67 sps, good stuff

It's a good source of brawls compared to what I have to get in ranked battles for less effort.
