📸 Hello to the entire community! This is my entry for the weekly contest. This time, I’m sharing a photograph of what we call the 'Pato Criollo' or 'Pato Mudo' (Silent Duck) in Cuba.

Although this species is usually called the 'Pato Criollo' in Cuba, its true name is the Muscovy duck. These birds are very common in rural homes across my country, though there are always exceptions—some people even raise them in the city, just like the subject of this story.

When I was a teenager, I brought three ducks back with me from Bayamo (in the eastern part of Cuba). My plan was to raise them at my father's house, but the neighbor’s cat found a way to get to them before I could do anything to save them. It was quite frustrating, especially since they were a gift from my family in the countryside.

These ducks are very hardy and don't make the typical 'quack-quack' sound like others, which is why they are also known as 'Silent ducks' (Pato mudo).

I hope that people who are passionate about nature, just like me, enjoy this photo.
