Let's Go Textile Again!

in Photography Lovers10 days ago

After a week without art, it's time to resume posting something from this wonderful world. Honestly I miss art and was thinking I'll have time to spend visiting exhibitions, but life has dealt me different cards. This is not a complaint, I really have no reason to complain, but I need to work wonders to be able to do everything.

Let's Go Textile Again!.jpg

So let's do another textile art post and see who likes what.

Gyöngyvér Kiss - Fragments of Ordinary Things 2

Gyöngyvér Kiss - Fragments of Ordinary Things 3

This was a series, but only these two were exhibited.

I cropped the second one for you to see what it is. Beads on canvas basically, simple, but very interesting idea.

Ana Hoble - Purple Road

This orange piece looks like a simple cloth, but it's way more than that for me. It's felt and the way colors are put together is amazing. If you know how felting is done, you know it's not that easy to get a nice piece, but Ana, the artist made it! I love it as these are my favorite colors and I'd be more than happy to have this piece on my wall. I would call it Autumn though.

My apologies here, because I didn't take photos of the tag and zooming in makes it unreadable, so all I can say it's made by Mária - Magdolna Vass, but the title of the artwork will remain a mystery. Regardless, I love it. It's a wonderful landscape and I love the colors too.

So many times I like so many artworks and I'm kind of sad, for not being able to buy the ones I like, but what can you do, right?

20250522_122425a.JPG

Daiana Stancioiu - Trifol ...

Again, I can't see the title, but it doesn't matter.

20250522_122437a.JPG

I took some close-up partial photos for you to see what this artwork is made of, as it's very complex and full, if I can use this word here. It's full of beads and sparkles.

It's nice, but honestly, I don't know what to say about it. It's too much for me.

20250522_122446a.JPG

Georgina Trila - The Harmony Of The Ocean

I can see this on the wall of the children's room. It's like a scene from a movie, or a story book. This is totally doable and maybe I'll create my own. It's kind of frustrating that I keep saying this and time never comes but if I don't make time for myself, no one will.

20250522_122454a.JPG

Felicia Elena Cimpian - Composition

This was a bit of a disappointment. I mean everyone can see what it is. It's two artworks made using white and cream lace, on a black medium. What I would have been interested in was the title, that would have revealed what the artist meant with these, but the title said nothing. I'll let you tell me what you see here, what you think the artist meant.

Eugenia Elena Reimschneider - Vibrant Structures

20250522_122514a.JPG

Another interesting one, but it's not my favorite to be honest.

20250522_122523a.JPG

Cristina Gabriela Hirtescu - Sunny November

Same idea executed in a different way. Cut offs sewed back but to a different place, symbolizing falling off leaves. This isn't my favorite either, but I like the idea and how the artist illustrated the idea using textile.

20250522_122530a.JPG

This is the top floor of the gallery and I'm always taking a photo of it, whenever it's open, because I love the place. There's a huge window on the left, which basically covers the ground floor and half of the top floor, but what I love the most is the big space and the railing.

I keep (day)dreaming about how it would be like, to have this floor as your living room, or workshop or study, or whatever you would want this floor for.

Raluca Simona Loghin - Recursive IV.

I don't say this often, but I don't like this at all. Sorry, but I can't say the opposite.

Cristina Lazar - Silence

Last, but not least, there were these two black garments, made by Ágnes Szakács.

This is the last batch of photos I took at the annual textile exhibition. Let's see if you like anything from here.

Sort:

Fragments of Ordinary Things my favorite ones, the first is a sort of grain field, the second could be birds feathers

I also like trifol as second pick

I don't really like the others a lot, I would elaborate more but not much time on holidays, but I wanted to step by your art post 😉

Oh, then what are you doing lurking here? Go enjoy your holiday as Hive is not going anywhere 😃

Haha well I got a bit of time when little kid sleeps in the bungalow, so I jump in to cast some upvotes and drop a few comments 😅

I love textile art in general. A few years back I got mentally into some pieces I was seeing on the net and maybe a program about some style and for a little bit I entertained the idea of getting a small loom. I'm glad that idea faded before I could do it though. I get so caught up in the beauty and the thought of it.

Thank you for sharing these photos. They were fun to look at.

Most likely a part of the artists are drawn to creating other type or art at some point in their career and that is totally normal. Failing, or getting a different outcome than the one expected is also normal. The question is, how tolerant you are or how to process failure, or if you perceive such an experience as failure and ultimately the costs as those need to be taken into consideration as well. You can work with cutoffs, leftovers, but the frame still costs money.

At first glance, the two works I liked the most are the one with the moon, which I love, and the purple path, because I like warm colours. Both are my favourites!

Regarding the question about the works with lace, I tried to see what I could imagine, and looking at it in an abstract sense, in the first one I see water and a fish, and in the second one, a scene in the countryside. But it's very strange.

I love being able to see what I find interesting in each one, it's great! Thank you very much!

This shows we have similar taste as I love those too 😄

Thank you for your thoughts, I love to read what others think of these artworks as we all see different things and it's exciting.

Thanks also for always commenting on these posts. It is highly appreciated. I'm trying to return the favor and pay attention to those I care about and get more regular at consuming their posts 😬😜

Art always amazes me because it comes from the imagination, which has no limits. That's why it's so interesting to see not only the forms but also the materials and the artist's own intention. We all see different things because our minds and experiences are different. How interesting!

It's always a pleasure. Thank you for such wonderful exhibitions.🤗💗

Gabriel "el maestro del Hilo" is one of the most amazing artist we have seen with textiles, he sews his artworks.

Thanks for the video link!

Absolutely adorable, beautiful especially the bead embroidery.

I was hoping you'd like these, at least some of them :)

Loved this virtual walk through the textile exhibition! The beadwork looks interesting, but I really liked Ana Hoble’s “Purple Road” (or “Autumn” 😊) for its warm and beautiful colors. Thanks for sharing this exhibition with us!

That Purple Road, or Autumn, as I called it seems to be a favorite here, for the obvious reasons.

Wow! @erikah, these are great textile art, I am a lover of art as well, your artistic display is so intriguing and captivating and unique. I personally admire the one with beads on it, it makes it stand out. I also admire the long one that looks like "tie and die," it's a name we call it here in Nigeria.

Thanks for sharing.
My best regards.

I've never heard of that Nigerian thing, but thanks for letting me know.

You're welcome 😊
