"Fear is the mind-killer." Shoshana was sure she had read that somewhere, but she couldn’t quite remember where, especially not under these conditions. She was quietly freaking out, so from the outside, you might mistake her stillness for aloofness, but inside she was a maelstrom of anxiety. She was about to fail the biggest test of her life.
At least that's what it felt like. In reality, she stood backstage at her own [expletive] concert about to erupt in hives, not knowing whether she could control those feelings long enough to get her voice out, not knowing if her fingers would freeze on the guitar strings, or if she would begin and the audience would just erupt into laughter.
She took a deep breath, picked up her guitar for a quick tuning and the D string snapped instantly. Just like that. Even stung her in the face.
She woke up in a cold sweat, relieved it hadn't been real, even though that dark cloud of uncertainty would follow her all through the day.

Tried the voice to text for this one. That technology is so much better now than five years ago. Wow.
But anyway, head on over here for the details and prompt to write your own freewrite today.
