Hello all! Another week and it’s time again to do another #myhivegoals post, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.
Let’s start with my Hive goals.
Hive & HBD
My current goal is 60k Hive.
Last week I increased my HP by 2211.26, bringing me to 45301.55 total Hive Power. That’s 75.5% of my goal!
Now, don’t be mistaken: I didn’t actually earn that much. 2000 of it was from my wallet, bot from post earnings.
I have been sitting on 4000 HIVE, converted from my HBD when the price of HIVE dropped last year, just waiting for a good time to trade it. I used this 4000 cache to successfully swing trade on a few of those upbit pumps last year. But upbit has been penalized and the pumps have seemingly stopped, so I decided it might be time to just power up some of it. So I powered up half. Maybe I’ll do the other half next week. I figure if the big pumps start again, well, I can always do a powerdown. In the meantime, I might as well enjoy the increased curation that 2000 can give me when powered up—and you guys get to benefit from my slightly higher upvote.
Anyway, math time. 60k - 45301.55 gives us 14698.45. Divided out by the days till the first of next year, we get 47.3 Hive needed per day to reach 60k by that point.
Woohoo, I improved my position. Last week it was 52.8. Now 47.3 is still well above what I get organically from posts alone, but hey, let me enjoy the small victory for now! When it goes back up next week, I’ll be disappointed, but for now—celebration!
Second Layer Tokens
Still nothing new on my radar here. I think defi still has some room to grow, so I am thinking about buying more RUG. RUG is great because it then feeds into the entire SSUK ecosystem, paying in DBOND each week, which then pays DAB, which then pays either HIVE or more DBOND, depending on if you stake it or not. It’s a bit complex, but it works (at least for now).
But I don’t know. Just powering up Hive for now and thinking.
Silver
The silver chart for last week:
We got up to a high of nearly $34! Awesome. It drew back a little, but I think we still finished the week strongly. Let’s hope it continues this week.

I love Godzilla. I’m sure many of you know that his name in Japanese is gojira (ゴジラ), but did you know where this name came from? The story goes that one of the workers at Toho was a big guy who everyone called first gujira and then later gojira. This was a combination of gorira (“gorilla”) and kujira (“whale”), because he was a big hairy guy who looked like a gorilla and he loved eating whale meat. This kind of playful mocking has always been common in Japan with boys. The guy who conquered Japan in the late 1500s, Hideyoshi, was nicknamed Monkey Face because he looked like a monkey. Anyway, so this worker’s nickname became first the nickname for the star of the newest monster movie and then his official name.
