No podemos seguir siendo conformistas.

ENGLISH
Hello everyone, good morning. A warm greeting to our entire community. There are days when we say, "I'm not going to dwell on all these accumulated situations," because in the end, we end up overthinking them, and that exhausts us even more, weakens us, and drains the energy we need to move forward. But mental labor isn't that easy. There are situations that completely steal our peace and, therefore, also rob us of the intention to ignore them, because they are simply present, affecting every second of the day, and our energy is compromised.
Today I join in the suggestion made by @brujita18 in the column we both share in our "Hispanic World" community, which focuses on those stories we carry within us and perhaps rarely talk about, but which sometimes weigh heavily or exert pressure on our hearts, minds, souls, and emotions.
Perhaps I could talk about a story from a rather distant past, one that we always carry with us, something that continues to resonate within us. But today I preferred to talk about one that is more recent, one that many of us have joined, from different perspectives but within the same context: our capacity for resilience, tolerance, and patience, but also for resistance. I have already witnessed, through many accounts, that this last capacity has become a glass of water that overflowed some time ago.

To discuss this topic that pervades mind and spirit, we must ask ourselves a question: Are we capable of enduring so much misery indefinitely? I feel that all the waters have flowed into the same well. My story goes back 25 years, when it seemed that no one understood what was happening around us, and only a few of us were already suffering it. If we tried to explain it, we were considered the villains of the story, until the passage of time gradually revealed the foul-smelling pot that was engulfing an entire nation.
The list of situations we are experiencing today is lamentable, unjust, absolutely, very much so. Some joined along the way, and I feel that my shoulders carry my story and that of those who joined later. But it's because of the passage of time, observing that nothing has improved; on the contrary, the situation becomes more complex every day. We cannot continue to let them brainwash us into believing that what we are experiencing is normal and that we must be patient. Normalizing living without water, or spending half a day without electricity every day, or counting every penny to buy a basic necessity, or paying for a service that doesn't work, is not normal, it's inhumane... but I have been carrying this internal struggle for 25 years, and I will not be able to feel absolute peace until it ends, until the situation in Venezuela is normalized, and until the last person involved in this debacle is brought to justice.
There's so much to reflect on. I know the situation is complicated and even daunting, but there's nothing in life that can't be achieved if we combine our strength and faith. Prayer has power, but words have even more... if we have the capacity to pray, we have the capacity to express ourselves. And I believe that moment to do so has arrived. Not just for one or two people, but for an entire country. God is in control; that's what I repeat every day. We can't continue to be complacent. I hope He gives us a sign soon, and that we can all see it and follow it together. A hug to all.
