Procrastination steals precious time—a truth that resonates deeply. I've always followed the rule of doing things as soon as possible. But a few years ago, this belief was called into question by the pressures of a busy life. It's difficult to juggle online activities with obligations in the real world. It takes a committed and determined attitude to be able to pull it off effortlessly.
Being a nursing mother poses significant challenges in balancing childcare with airdrop hunting. The constant demands of caring for a baby often result in unfinished online tasks. Writing this post took longer than anticipated due to frequent interruptions for my baby's needs. While I cherish the time spent with her, it inevitably leads to a backlog of work that may go undone.
My notepad is likely rolling its eyes at me, burdened with an ever-growing list of unfinished tasks. As a crypto enthusiast and airdrop hunter, staying current is essential to avoid missing deadlines. The relentless influx of links ensures a daily routine of filling out forms, running testnets, and executing transactions. The mining apps, now a sensation among airdrop hunters, often demand a consistent streak for optimal results. The pace is both exhilarating and challenging.
As a self-proclaimed chief procrastinator, maintaining a streak has proven elusive. The consequences of procrastination have been significant, leading to strained relationships. A recent incident involved a friend expressing frustration about unanswered calls and not calling back, resulting in a decision to sever ties. Despite the genuine intention to call back later, the habit has taken a toll on me, marking a recurring pattern of unintended neglect.
The tipping point for breaking this habit occurred when I missed out on claiming Tia during the celestial network airdrop. Despite having an eligible wallet, I procrastinated on watching the claim tutorial, convincing myself there was still time. When I finally decided to act, it was too late, claiming time had closed hours earlier. This single act of procrastination resulted in a significant loss of $3000 at the current value of Tia. It served as a harsh lesson, prompting a firm resolve to change this detrimental habit.
Indeed, the notion of a perfect time is often elusive. Actions can be taken anytime and anywhere; it's a matter of priorities. Waiting for an ideal moment to make decisions, complete tasks, or connect with loved ones may lead to missed opportunities. Adult life is demanding, and the 24 hours in a day often fall short of all our ambitions. Interestingly, while the to-do list grows, there's still time for frivolities such as conversing and social activities that may not provide considerable personal value.
After assessing how I utilized my time towards the end of the year, I acknowledged a lack of sufficient attention to crucial matters. As I approached the new year, I made a firm decision to eliminate the procrastination habit and prioritize more effectively.
How do I intend to achieve this?
To achieve this goal, I've structured my daily activities around a prioritized routine. Mornings are dedicated to essential chores before engaging with my phone, so when I eventually do, I can pay full attention to it. I meticulously organize my to-do list, addressing urgent matters before less critical ones. I've scheduled alarms for my baby's feeding times and provided her with plenty of toys to allow me more focused time for tasks that require attention.
While it's early in the year, the plan is proving effective. Setting alarms for timely tasks has also proven to be a helpful strategy, providing a structured framework for my day.
I understand that fully overcoming procrastination might be a tough feat, I believe that putting in a conscious effort will undoubtedly yield rewarding results.
