Hello, Splinterlands friends and community! Today, we’re diving into one of my experienced battles with neutral battle. In the NEUTRAL rule set, only neutral units will be deployed except the summoner's cards. It's a short-coming card with just neutral, the highest or stringer will prevail with a common strategy with the chosen summoner. Want to learn how to keep your team strong, even in the toughest situations? Let's discover strategies to stay ahead in these interesting battles I will share today.!

Set-up Plan Strategy

In this battle, the Are You Not Entertained? rule set allows the use of one Gladiator card, while Unprotected means all units lack armor, and Shades of Gray restricts the lineup to neutral cards only. Given these conditions, Titiana Blayde is the only Gladiator card available, so I can place her in the front position. However, I’m considering using Arkemis the Bear instead, as it's a stronger unit than Titiana Blayde. Based on my opponent’s recent battle history and available neutral cards, I can still adjust my lineup, including whether to deploy Titiana Blayde in the final setup.

Additionally, the rule set limits this battle to the Death element only, and I have two summoners to choose from: Thaddius Brood and Astral Entity. I'm thinking of using Astral Entity because of its Resurrect ability and Dodge could provide valuable support of my setup plan.

My Lineup

Summoner - Astral Entity

Astral Entity provides my team with valuable support through its Dodge ability, which increases my units’ chances of evading melee and ranged attacks, and Resurrect, allowing me to revive a key unit, such as Arkemis the Bear, or any other fallen card in critical moments.

First Position - Arkemis the Bear

Arkemis the Bear takes the frontline as my main tank. Equipped with Protect (though the armor is not applicable in this battle), Halving to reduce incoming damage, Forcefield to mitigate strong hits, and Enrage to boost its attack when hit, Arkemis is built to absorb as much damage as possible while evading a portion of attacks, thanks to Astral Entity’s Dodge boost.

Second Position - Gargoya Lion

Positioned second, Gargoya Lion backs up Arkemis with a solid mix of abilities: Enrage for increased attack when damaged, Flying to enhance evasion against non-flying enemies, and Void to reduce incoming magic damage. This makes it a dependable secondary tank with good endurance.

Third Position - Magi of Chaos

Magi of Chaos serves as my primary magic attacker. With its Oppress ability, it deals double damage to non-attacking targets, offering a strong counter to defensive setups or non-attackers in my opponent’s lineup.

Fourth Position - Supply Runner

Placed in fourth, Supply Runner is my support unit, contributing with Swiftness to boost my team’s speed and Strengthen to increase my team’s overall health. This positioning helps keep it safe while it supports the rest of the team.

Fifth Position - Gem Meteor

Gem Meteor is my main ranged attacker, featuring the Scattershot ability, which targets random enemy positions. This randomness can potentially disrupt low-health or support units on the opponent's side, weakening their strategy.

Last Position - Doctor Blight

In the final position, Doctor Blight is a secondary magic attacker with a versatile set of abilities: Affliction to prevent healing on enemies, Camouflage to keep it hidden, Poison to deal continuous damage, Scavenger to increase health as enemies are eliminated, and Weaken to reduce the health of all enemy units.

Analyzing the battle

The opponent seems to have a Cryptic summoner that costs 7 mana and chooses Rataliate and Enfeeble of Arkemis the Bear and Couerl Lurker. The opponent's strategy is kinda focused on melee attacks with Venka the Vile as the main damage dealer which shows that the opponent has a stronger card deck for a neutral battle. I have a feeling that I might have a higher chance of winning since Venka the Vile won't do more damage because of my Forcefield Arkemis the Bear. The only thing I'm concerned about is the poison and if my attacks were able to be missed or not.

As the battle progresses I can already see the difference in the cards left. My DODGE ability as able to carry and win this battle, It was a closed one if opponent Venka the Vile did hit my units it would be utterly lost for me but since I got DODGE ability, I was lucky that it could do its job.

Scary Venka the Vile, I was losing hope because the difference in speed, and the opponent was able to hit my backlines with Uraeus. Had the opponent used Astral Entity, the outcome could have been different, but my strategic setup prevailed. My victory shows the importance of maximizing the abilities and anticipating the opponent's playstyle for a winning strategy.
