My sister thought I wasn't going to complete her beaded bag but if I didn't, I wasn't going to be blamed.

Yes that's true, because why would she give me such short notice knowing fully well that my little baby still needs my maximum attention,
Well am glad I was able to complete the bag before the expected date (today being 25 of October) and am also glad she appreciates my work.
(Big sister has to also perform her duty)

How it all started

My junior sister wanted a beaded bag for her conventional program which is to start today being 25 of October,

She made it compulsory that I have to make the bag and some other jewelries but you see, I have a little baby and she also needs attention , so I had to decline a bit.

But deep down , she knew I can't decline and that I will surely bead her bag, so she kept quiet and walked away.

Two days later I handed her the beaded earrings and bracelet but she insisted that I make the bag,
I refused and walked away like she did before because I wanted to surprise her with the bag.

I already had some nice beads in my bead collection (I used to bead a long time ago and I still had some sugar beads with me).

I made some research, and saw some nice beaded bags that my sister would really love. ( But I didn't make the exact bag I screenshot, I made some mistakes along the line which resulted to another different bag)

I brought out my

  • Packet of sugar white bead
  • Half packets sugar red bead
  • Fishing line 0.70
  • Scissors

And now is time to get to work.

IMG_20241018_144820_070.jpg

  • I measured and cut out my fishing line (full length of a measurement tape),

I inserted four white beads and then I crossed with one (I crossed with one out of the four white beads I inserted),

Thereby forming what looks like a cross with the beads.

IMG_20241018_145131_551.jpg

  • After that, I inserted another white sugar bead but this time, I inserted Three piece.

I crossed with one out of the three bread and drag it down to meet the other bead.

  • I continued with this process until I caught to my desired size (counting vertically 11 crossed)

IMG_20241018_174506_558.jpgIMG_20241019_130306_148.jpg
  • After getting to my desired length,I turn the bead and started beading to get my desired width.

Not too sure of a particular design to make because I've already made some mistakes with the length but I knew I just have to great a magic ,( something simple but awesome).

IMG_20241021_123519_944.jpgIMG_20241021_125036_519.jpg
  • After getting the desired width, I decided to add my red beads to the tips to elevate the white color and am glad the red color gave me exactly what I prayed for.

IMG_20241021_125301_101.jpgIMG_20241021_125318_391.jpg
  • Now it time to bend the beads to form a rectangle.

I used a big bead and a perfect fishing line to fit my bead, that the reason I could bend my bead easily

IMG_20241021_130855_885.jpgIMG_20241021_151704_142.jpg
  • After bending the bag to form a rectangle, I started beading the both sides (covering the both sides of the bead).

  • Now that is done , I bend the sides and add three beads, so my bag can have a proper shape of a bag so shown in the pictures.

  • At first I wanted to make a round hand for the bag but because of time, I decided to make a simple beaded hands for the bag ,
I wasn't sure if my sister was going to love the hands but I was already tired.

I quickly made a simple handle for the bag and planned to convince my sister to like It that way.

Beading was one of the craft that gave me my first income as a teen and that's one of the reasons I love beading till date.

Beading this bag took me three days because I had to bead and then nurse my baby whenever she needed my attention.

Am glad that despite all the challenges, I was able to complete the bag and put a smile on my sister's face.

Thanks for reading till the end.

A beautiful bag has been prepared by using white bead and red bead. Betty looks really great. Its use in various convention centers would be great. Anyone who sees it will love it very easily. Glimpses of lighting between the sticks will enhance its beauty.
