Life after being fired!

in Weekend Experiences15 days ago

Being called into the boardroom and the next words you hear is, "We are sorry, but we have to let you go!" You are sorry, and you have to let me go: "To where please?".

"Getting fired doesn't mean the end of the world." Though it might seem like it, the truth remains that "it is not". Being fired is laid off from your job when you aren't fully ready, "like a surprise." Now that comes with a lot of emotions.

Firstly, the news is gonna come as a shock to me because I wasn't expecting to be fired anytime soon. I'm gonna go to my office and pack my belongings, say my goodbyes to the other staff. Now being fired isn't the only problem "right now" the problem is how to relay the news to my family "This is gonna be hard" Well, I think there is no easy way to break a bad news, so I'm gonna share the news with my family and tell them "Hey! I'm jobless." I strongly believe their reactions are gonna be accompanied by judgemental looks.

Being fired from my place of work is gonna affect me emotionally because I wasn't prepared to look for another job; it also means something else "that I wasn't good enough" its gonna be devastating, I would develop different feelings ranging from not fitting in to not being good enough, So my emotions are gonna be tampered with because the loss of a job is still significant loss, so I'm gonna grieve for a while "not too long though."

The next thing I'm gonna do is to pay more attention to myself, pick those pieces up, and build them into my life; I'm gonna be engaging in activities that bring out the best in me. I'm gonna hang out with friends. Visit places, take a walk around the park, feel every breeze as it blows, open my heart, and embrace every moment of my life. I'm gonna take a moment of my time to reminisce back on what I was doing wrong that made my ex-company pop those words. If there is any area in my career that needs improvement, this is the right time to work on it.

I'm gonna grow my career to the point I won't be easily replaceable, then I'm gonna enter into the job-hunting market with a different mindset and the new being that is birthed inside of me.

The optimism, the eagerness and determination. At least after grieving because of the lost job, we're still hoping. Even though it's hard, we'll just pause but that won't stop us from moving forward. It will be so hard especially in looking another job then applying, go on to the interview you know, like going back to the step one. But still, will our determination for sure we can survive it.

Yeah. I agree with you on this, our determination is everything that matters.

Thanks for stopping by.
