Paseo en el Zoológico con una amiga. // Walk at the Zoo with a friend.

in Family & Friends2 months ago

Hey friends, how are you?
To get out of the daily routine of work and university a friend invited me to Bararida Zoo to spend a nice morning, let's say different because the idea was to get out of the daily routine of work, the funny thing is that I had to work at 2:30pm 😂😂.
Of course being Sunday, it is a family day and everything started to fill up after 11pm, entire families came to spend the afternoon here.

Michell invited me to go early, but honestly punctuality is not something she follows to the letter, so for her we arrived at 10:15pm, we were among the first to enter and there was no one, they were just feeding the animals and others were not yet out of the cages.
The cats on the African side were all asleep, except for the lion, who literally walked in front of us for a moment, and he was roaring, but it was a strange roar.
The tigers and other cats were asleep and nowhere to be seen.

Sincerely for me it is a pity to remember the giraffes, elephants and see that now there are none, especially the last elephant “Jira”, who was there almost since the beginning of the park.
The last remaining zebra was eating, and apparently they didn't feed it completely and left a bale of straw, I took some and fed it but I was afraid it would bite me 😂😂😂😂.
The hippos were submerged and others were still in the cage, so nothing very interesting to see here either.

This time we did see that they separated the ostriches, there is a group in one place and another near the elephant enclosure.
Something strange, because I don't understand why they separated them, besides in all this time that I have been visiting the Zoo I have never heard that they have reproduced.

This time something interesting that I had not seen before, the American Raccoon, my god it is identical to the movies or tiktok memes, they literally took their hand out of the cages to ask for some food, they are extremely intelligent and look at you with a tender face.
They are next to the capuchin monkeys who are also incredibly intelligent, they gave us a piece of their food and then stuck out their hand, as well as making a change.

In another part of the zoo there is also a group of free monkeys, of course separated by the water lake, but I feel that at least they live better than those who are locked up.

We made a small stop to rest, and eat a little, because honestly the sun was intense at a +10 level, it was unbearable to walk like that. We stayed in a small hut for a few minutes and bought popsicles and sweets.

This time we saw the chimpanzees, the truth is they have them separated, there is only 1 in one cage and 2 in another, I honestly do not understand why, because long before they were together. There was even one that was rescued from poaching, he was missing a hand and his name was yaco, I still don't know if he is here.
The truth is that 2 of these that still exist were donated by the Valentinos circus, before the prohibition of using animals in circuses they were here and they left them in this Zoo, one of them would stick out his hand, clap his hands, stick out his tongue and dance, he is really super intelligent but it is because he lived with humans for many years.

We took a last walk to retire, because Michell had to go to a friend's house and I had to go to work, but honestly it was a total change of routine, it was the right time to recreate.
