What's up frens?!
Summer is here which means more creepy critters are out in the wild, something that you may have noticed from my recent posts.
What can I say...I love bugs 😄
Yesterday I encountered an interesting moth I had never seen before, caught in a spider web.
I poked it with a small twig to see if it's alive and maybe free it but it was long dead... Oh well, that's life 😅
According to Google lens this individual belongs to the Arctia villica species. It s just yet another regular nocturnal moth with nothing special to mention about it but you can read more on it if you like on Wikipedia.
Arctia villica, the cream-spot tiger, is a moth of the family Erebidae. The species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae. It is distributed from the Iberian Peninsula, Anatolia, western and northern Iran, western Siberia, southwestern Asia and North Africa
And this is another cool little critter I encountered today:
Can you guess what this ugly little fucker will grow to be?
First to guess it in the comments will earn 10 juicy HBI. No need for exact species, just the common name will do 🙌
Ok, I guess this is it for today.
Have a good one frens!
