What's up plebs?!

Back with another silver coin, this time I figured to pick something that is not from Germany. But it's a country they were really good pals once upon a time 😊😂

Let's see a couple pics first!

So what we have here is a Japanese 100 yen piece from 1959, which falls in the Showa era:

The Shōwa era (昭和時代, Shōwa jidai, [ɕoːwadʑidai] ⓘ) was the period of Japanese history corresponding to the reign of Emperor Shōwa (commonly known in English as Emperor Hirohito) from December 25, 1926, until his death on January 7, 1989. It was preceded by the Taishō era and succeeded by the Heisei era. source

The obverse features prominently a sheaf of rice and in Japanese the text

State of Japan
100 Yen

Moving on the reverse things at simple. Just the denomination, era and year

Shōwa
Year 39

This is a really small coin so as expected there's not much to see in the edge

Appropriate theme for the coin. Rice is the agricultural foundation of Japan especially going back in history as almost every farmer paid their taxes in the form of Rice when silver was often scarce, right @trumpman san?

Right!

Cool ricecoin! :)

@tipu curate

Thanks for the tip! 😍

That looks cool, man. I wonder what is the total value of your silver collection XD

No idea at this point! I must make an excel but too lazy 😂

Nice coin and I think it's a fitting theme for Japan. They have a rich history and rice is a great staple food for people there.

Asian people like rice 🤣

I like that it features rice. Like sushi rice. Hmmm... I must be hungry.
I'll head for home now and eat my dinner! !LOL

Go eat, lol 🤣

Japanese old coinage is very interesting.

Have you seen the rare tentacle porn coins from 1938?

Well not this one lol

Sort of ugly but I like it just like you 😘 !BBH !LOL !ALIVE

AHH, this coins reminded me of shogun.. Japanese history is fascinating and that design represents it well.

!PIZZA

That's gorgeous.

They are also cheap if you want one :)

Maybe someday.

it's nice tho, but I don't really like coins, because I feel like I can easily misplace them

All the people who used to hold silver are very happy as the price has increased, I like their design too.
