Some shots from my Portal: Revolution playthrough, which is a free mod for Portal 2. Going to be honest, this whole thing feels like a third-party DLC published by Valve, even though they had nothing to do with it. Visually, the modded version of Source engine brings a nice shine.

It's actually not a bad looking game, but even more so, the levels look really nice. Like, the areas speak more about its story and history, you don't get games like this really often. Kudos to the developer, he did a great job. Hope be brings more.

The new character that isn't Chell is woken up by Stirling, the bot that won't shut up and be concise about what he's trying to say. But yeah, the decrepit areas speak volume about how old Aperture is now.

There's obviously a lot going on, playing this with the basic lite gun, where I create holes after dropping cube boxes. I have to bounce on something to jump, and then on air create another hole. I need to obtain and carry a ball to the other side before inserting it to electrical junction.

Ah, that juxtaposition, looking at him all cheery while looking into my file records. meanwhile, other machines that are probably sentient are being disassembled, destroyed, and recreated. Nice.

At times, playing the game, reliving the absurd techno based prison that Aperture facility is brings the familiar absurd feeling. This game already has a world well-built. It's fun knowing the environment adds more to that. That's how good a game can get.

Yes, this place has fallen apart. Really seems like GLaDOS was the core component keeping it all together. Then again, being based around the Half-Life, I'd think other reasons for how this place came to be. A myriad of reasons for the scientists not only abandoning it, but nothing in regard to HL2 was found either.

Oh wow, this looks beautiful. Just look at the upgraded gun being placed, looks very symbolic.

This lighting looks gorgeous. Damn, that sets the mood alright. And it's from a dated engine from the late 2000s. Valve sure knew how to make a game engine. Can't wait to see where Source 2 goes.

I hope you enjoyed this, looks great. I kid you not, I think Portal is a game that will hold up for a very long time. I mean, even a decade from now. Can even easily get a remaster makeover to add more gloss, and contemporary appeal. Go crazy.
