I Love this post! I know exactly what you’re talking about re: the softness of gold, and the pleasure of writing out ideas by hand. But also, your post reminds me of my dear ol’ Da rip who was a fountain pen pervert and practitioner. He was a poet in his own right, but even as a young’in I realized that his fancy ink pen inspired all sorts of latitudes, platitudes and decorative punctuation that can only be described as meta-calligrphyographic-superficial-enhancement, but where he lacked in accuracy, he deffo made up for it in his precision.
