Making The House A Home!

WhatsUp! Self Doers!

Well I've got some fixing up to do today and I thought why not share it with the good folks here on HIVE!

It's nothing major really but it's something that can make people give things away! All it needs is a little bit of love and tender care! Oh so tender care! A good piece of furniture should never be wasted! NEVER!

Especially something that is not press wood!

Hell yeah look at what I've scored today!

I only really got the big cubboard, it's actually TV case but it hasn't been used in a while and it did get some water on the lowest shelf but that doesn't bother me one bit! It's something that can be worked around, besides that there's nothing wrong with it!
Did get a beating over the years but that proves for character!

Oh yeah that's the dogger below! One of my storm troopers!

The Problems I Faced!

Let's see what's up with the TV Case first! It's not that big of a problem as I mentioned earlier but it's enough to make someone give up on it!

The part of the door that actually bolts down on the case itself was broken, nothing a little wood glue cant sort out right?
That and a bit of love and perhaps a screw or three!

The Mini Coffee Table... Well!

Okay so this piece I've had for quite some time actually and the one leg has always been broken, it's like literally broken off! Still hanging strong though, but broken through!

It's just lodged in there, so I'll have to pluck it out to get it fixed up right!
With this one I might also add a screw or three! I don't want to but I will have too!

The door was the easy one I have to say!

The door went real fast, faster than I thought it would. Although I'm not exactly too happy with it I think it'll hold up until some kid without parental supervision pulls on it and breaks it.

I didn't have any big clamps to work with so I kind went out on a limb here hoping my plan would work! One can't exactly keep squeezing on the wood waiting for the glue to dry right?

I decided on adding a small screw just for now, once the glue is dried I'll be removing and and sanding away all of the impurities that the screw left!

I can't say I'm happy with adding an unnecessary screw but it is what it is! I needed to!

The Small Coffee Table.

Well that was where it was at!

The real deal! This one was going to be hectic, I think!

Nah not really though, I already had a set plan in motion and all that was needed now was for it to be carried out.
I did tear off a little more than what was needed but I think I want this one fixed properly!

I pulled out all of my puzzle pieces!

Never Too Much Glue!

Laughs I do believe in that! Laughs! Anyways you can always wipe the excess glue off with a wet cloth! It's works like a charm!

I didn't have to add all the little dowels back into it but I thought why not? Keep it as original as it can be right? Just for the looks!

The screws kind of messed up that idea I had! Laughs!

Although the screw were really necessary, It had to have some sort of new strengthening added to it, the glue alone would not cut out the job nicely. Even though I added way too much of that!

Let's see how they hold up ey!

On The Morrow!

Okay so on the morrow I'll be adding the door to the TV case, I did leave it for a couple of hours now but I think tomorrow would be the best bet, it might be dry on the surface but not on the core yet and I don't want the door falling off before I even get to use it right!

That would be tragically sad!

For now I'll be waiting for the next piece of wood I can fix up!

I like how you're giving new life to old furniture. It's inspiring to see your dedication to fixing things up rather than letting them go to waste. I really gotta learn how to do this hehehe

You should! It comes in handy and you'll never be without a job xD

On a different note though, the door hasn't fallen off yet! Laughs!

Hehehehe thank goodness it hasn't hahaha
