Over the next few articles I am going to discuss how social media as a destination is no more.
Social media, as we know it is dead. Certainly, the applications are still there and not going away anytime soon. Facebook, X, and YouTube are as strong as they ever were. That said, their role has changed a great deal.
They are no longer a destination for social engagement. Instead, they are paths to data collection for AI training. This is the new role.
Companies that have access to data stand a strong chance of excelling. That is why OpenAi and Anthropic are scrambling around. They lack the data these other entities have.
LEO is no different. The idea of Leo as a social media platform has to die. Like the others, that does not mean social media features are discarded. That is not the case.
However, it all feeds into AI. That should be the focus.
Of course, the flipside to this is that the AI tools that are created are spread throughout the platform, providing users with more utility.

LeoAI - Adding To It
The first idea that I want to toss out there are tools for editing.
When approaching this situation, it is crucial that the business mindset takes place. This means providing the tools necessary for success.
A major part of the digital platform business model is to keep people. The worst thing to have happen is for someone to leave to find news or other information. It is also the mirror of this with the use of tools.
For example, Canva is using AI to expand its offerings. Naturally, the company is charging for this, driving up the cost of using the platform.
While this is not a bad business move, it is something that Leo can take advantage of. The idea of AI driven editing tools built into LeoAI only makes sense.
If the platform offers image generation, a key component is going to be the ability to edit those images right from the UI. We do not want people taking the image, going to another application, editing it, then having to return to Leo.
The likelihood of all that happening is not great. Only the most ardent of users will return.
Here is a clear example of how we need to keep building the tools for people to use.
Leo As An AI Plattform
The second we move away from the social media focus to AI, we can see how the path changes completely. Instead of seeking how to get more social activity, the goal becomes getting people to use more of the AI features.
This is also what provides the opportunity to market to outsiders.
For $10 per month, the value of Leo Premium can skyrocket by having more AI features built in. This will have an impact on the token, as the tokenomics are designed around this concept.
The major social media applications are not going to relinquish their power. To make a dent requires doing something different. Simply replicating what they are doing is not going to net results.
When it comes to AI, we see a hodgepodge of applications. There are many cropping up everyday.
Leo is well suited to keep adding to the pile since it does have the social media element. This means that more data can continually be fed in, helping to democratize data. We see an enhancement as more AI features are added, offering greater utility as compared to just creating content.
The most important thing is the fact that Leo will be running a SLM, allowing us to continue to contour the data that is put in. Since the data updated with each new thread, we can have real time interaction.
