We are seeing the need for companies to completely remake themselves. This is something that appears to be accelerating as we move deeper into the technological age.
In this video I discuss how many industries, including automotive, are under major attack. The winners in many of these will be the ones that can become technology companies. Simply adding technology to their operations likely will not be enough.

I don't think many can become technology companies. A lot don't have the funds for it, many are too behind to just start now, and it will be difficult to enter the fight in getting the latest hardware for it. I think what a lot of them can do is to partner with smaller technology companies, or rent out a big company's services instead.
I agree. Many will be swallowed up or overrun by other companies. Disruption is coming from all angles for most industries.
It highlights the urgent need for businesses to continuously innovate and adapt.
