Dear friends, I wish you all a wonderful Sunday, filled with peace, good times, and those little joys that make life feel lighter. Today we’re going to my son’s friend’s birthday party; I’ll tell you later how we spent this special day. But first, I want to share with you, in a little more detail, how our Saturday went—it was simple, peaceful, and, at the same time, very lovely.
We woke up later than usual. Even so, as is my routine, by seven I was already out in the backyard feeding my birds, who always await their daily ration with that enthusiasm that only animals know how to show. After tending to them, I went back to bed—not so much to sleep, but to give my body a few more minutes of rest. Sometimes you don’t need to close your eyes—just take a deep breath and let the day begin without rushing.
When we finally decided to get up, we each set about doing small chores around the house. I spent my time sewing the hem of a pair of pants—one of those household tasks that seem insignificant but give a sense of order and well-being. My husband, for his part, tidied up the yard a bit, putting back in place what the early-morning rain had scattered. It was a peaceful, unhurried start to the day—the way more Saturdays in life should be.
Around noon, we set out for the city to pick up the cake our son had ordered for his friend’s birthday. Before we headed out, my husband surprised me with an invitation to have lunch at Moya Grill, located on 31 de Julio Avenue in Paraguachí, right here on our beloved Margarita Island. This place is known for its mixed grills, and I can assure you they’re truly delicious and generous. But the best part isn’t just the food—it’s the service: warm, fast, and full of affection. They make you feel right at home, as if you were part of a big, happy family. It was an excellent experience—the kind you’re grateful for and will always remember.

The weather also decided to be on our side. After several rainy mornings, the sun came out in all its splendor, illuminating the natural and urban landscapes in an extraordinary way. When the sun shines, the island looks as if it were hand-painted. The nighttime rains leave the days radiant and clear, with that scent of wet earth mingling with the breeze.

There wasn't much traffic in the city, even though it was Saturday. Maybe it was siesta time, or perhaps the intense sun made people prefer to stay home. Whatever the reason, the atmosphere was calm, which made the walk more enjoyable.

We picked up the cake and went home. It was a dark chocolate cake, decorated with delicate details. Our son’s friend is a very kind, sweet, and respectful girl, and I’m sure she’ll love it. She, like my husband, loves chocolate, so this gift will be perfect for her.

I hope you have a sweet and wonderful day, full of moments worth remembering.
See you soon.
Bye.
Chao.
