Finally the Typhoon Carina went out of the Philippine Are of Responsibility, lot of places were flooded, and thankfully here in our place we don't experience flooding. But landslides often occur here, and during the typhoon soil from the back of the house eroded , good thing it didn't reach the windows but it caused leaking inside the house.
So now the rain stopped, we should clear this to avoid leaking when the rain comes again. It was a tough job since only me and my wife is available to do it.
We woke up early to start clearing the soil, if it is just soil it would be easier but we had this wild sunflower and Runo Grass that came when the soil eroded. So we started in clearing this plants first. I cut them and my wife dump it together in a nearby area.
After taking out the plants, it's time to remove the soil under it, It was heavy since it's still wet, now my muscle are put to the test. And to make things even harder a lot of this plant were also buried under making it hard for the shovel to scoop the soil.
Little by little we moved forward to remove the pile of soil, rushing wont do me any good because I have a back injury. Anyways even if we do it slow we can still get the job done.
A lot of mosquito joined us in the job so we made a fire so that the smoke will drive them away. As for the ants in the ground, I'll just have to deal with them.
This is what we did the whole day, I'm just thankful that the rain did not come early. And by the time the rain came, we already made a water channel where the water can flow away from our walls.
Were just so thankful that this is the only thing that happened here during the typhoon, other places of the country experienced far more worst situations. I'm just praying that everyone will recover after the typhoon. May God help us all.
