Numerical control was born in the USA in 1947 for the aeronautics industry, and a fundamental contribution was made by John T. Parsons, who developed the concept of control through numerical coordinates, later perfected at MIT. I would say that today the numerically controlled machining center represents the heart of modern mechanical production.
