I think they can pay a lower rate than most of us and make use of various schemes, but they should be exposed. Did Trump ever publish his tax details? I suspect he will do deals for his rich friends and Musk will control the data. They are not working for normal folk.

Yes, a lot of billionaires don't pay personal income taxes, however, their businesses likely pay hundreds of millions, if not billions in Federal, State, and Local Taxes.

I expect they play the system to minimise what they pay in ways that regular folk can't. They can still live really well if they pay what is due. I've heard some say they would pay more as they want to live in a decent country.
