Just as change is a constant thing in life, so is also growth. The real problem lies in answering the question; Are we growing in the right direction? Is every step we take leading us towards the greater heights we endlessly pray for, or are we unknowingly moving a wrong step forward?
Looking back, comparing myself now to who I was last year, a lot has really changed. All birthed out of hard work, resilience and above all, God's grace.
I have grown not just by adding a digit to my age, but also by adding the title, DR to my name.. one I have dreamt of for the past seven years; one I have sacrificed everything to achieve.
Becoming a doctor has been my dream ever since I stepped into a biology class. Against all odds, against every obstacle, I never let go of that dream and today I am proud to say I have been a doctor for over two months now.
Life has got a way of preparing you ahead for every path you take, leaving behind indelible imprints along the journey; some of these moments never gets easy to deal with but in the end, they shape the success storied we tell
If there is one great lesson I learned this year was that Dreams Come True.
Nothing good ever comes easy but what's more difficult than the obstacles you face along the way is keeping your dreams alive. Life taught me this year that no matter what happens along the way, as long as you never lose sight of that your dream and stay focused, you will surely achieve it.
Entering the year, I never knew it will still be possible to wrap up my training because of the challenges I faced; it was not just the financial issues; was not just the strength to always burn the midnight candles, was not just facing pressures of seeing your seemingly agemates flaunting their wealth while you're still trying to finish school, Mine of that was easy to deal with but as always, Not Giving Up was always the answers to keeping your dreams alive and in the end, it was all worth it.
Never expect to have it all rosy, sometimes we fall but what's worse than falling is remaining on the ground.
When you fall, stand up and try again... No wonder some will say, "you've got 365days in a year, you can't be unlucky every day"
That! Was my year's greatest lesson:
To never give up because dreams do come true.
