In life, every action or decision that we take, inevitably we would have some expectation of the result or outcome, when we buy a phone, we expect it to be better than the previous one we had, when we go into a cinema, we expect the storyline to be bringing us a certain experience. Consequences is that we would be happy if our expectation are met and disappointed if otherwise. But reality at times give us a slap in the face. Thus one thing we have to learn earn is to expectation management.
By referring to expectation management, it is multi way, in workplace especially so, most often than not, people in leadership position would expect all employee or reports of their to meet his/her expectation and often, they forget this is a 2 way traffic, employees/reports likewise would have expectation of them and in MOST cases, they overlook to manage that and this is very often than not the case when employee start leaving a leader as they felt disappointed and let down by their leaders.
