My take-away: "No matter where we went ..... none tasted like my mother's". Even as an adult, I can't forget what my mom used to prepare. My consolation is that I'm blessed with a wife who can cook too. Let me add this, apart from always returning home on time to eat from my wife's delicious table, I rarely eat out because of food seasonings. Some seasoning cubes are not appealing to me; same with colouring substances. Some chefs use chemicals instead of palm oil; it's scary. In fact, eating out is something I dread. I like your article ..... honestly

Thank you very much for your words.
I completely understand what you mean. There are flavors that stay with us for life because they are connected to people, memories, and moments more than to the food itself.
I also feel that homemade meals carry something different, especially when they are prepared with care and affection. Over time, I’ve realized that what I truly miss is not only the taste, but everything that surrounded those moments at the table.
And yes, today many foods feel too artificial or rushed. Sometimes simplicity and authenticity are what make a meal unforgettable.
I’m glad the post connected with you.
Thank you for reading and sharing your experience.
