The power up day for March 2025 just finished and this time I got the big power up badge!
I got the smallest badges for the last few months as well, but this time was able to power up a bit more Hive:
As you can see I did pretty well in February earning 671.96 HP from author rewards and 58.41 HP from curation rewards. As my Hive power increases I will be getting more Hive from curation rewards as well.
February was a really big month for me on Hive as I became a Hive Witness and in the last days of February I also started running Splinterlands SPS Validator node!
I am running both services with a long term mind set. This is not a short term play for me, but a long term opportunity. Every Hive I am earning is getting immediately staked increasing my Hive Power and every SPS I will earn will be staked as well.
Here is a more detailed look at my Hive rewards that include Hive Witness rewards. I am a very new Hive Witness, so I am not ranked very high and therefore not getting much Hive, but the witness rewards are consistent and will add up over time:
You can see Witness rewards in purple above. As you can see Author rewards are the top source of Hive Power for me, but witness rewards are consistent and are clearly higher than curation rewards. I don't have a full thirty days worth of data yet, but in nineteen days I earned 82.27 HP as a witness compared to 58.41 HP from curation in thirty days.
My current Hive Power is 8,613.84 and my goal is to reach ten thousand Hive Power in the next two months. This seems achievable with consistent quality posting and curation.
Hive is a very interesting place and I believe we are still early in crypto as it is just gaining mainstream acceptance. Here you can build up your Hive Power via author rewards and participation in the eco system, while places like X or Reddit don't pay you anything for producing content.
I believe Hive has a bright future ahead of it and I will slowly build up my Hive Power and stake in this eco-system. Here is what my Hive Power looks like this year:
I see that Splinterlands community is getting more involved on Hive and paying attention to keeping Hive Power and not just extracting all of it into SPS or cards or other things. KE ratio that measures how much power you retain from your author rewards and how much you extract that was introduced by @azircon really improved how Splinterlands players treat Hive Power. There is a focus on keeping it close to 2 which means not extracting more than 50% of your author rewards.
Consistency is the key. Keep on stacking Hive Power! And when you can Power Up!
