Hello!
I saw a tweet from @Rothmus, (an account worth following in my opinion, specially if you like freedom and all the topics related to it. He posted a map of Europe showing fertility rates for the year 2024.
On the map we can shockingly see that most countries are in red. This means low or extremely low fertility rate. Only a few countries like a part of Serbia with 1.9 (Kosovo I think) are close to the replacement level 2.
Bulgaria have a 1.72 and is also close.
The worst part is tat most of the countries of Europe are below 1.5. That’s not enough to replace the population. And, it's even worse, it means that population is collapsing.
There are a lot of people that say: "There are too many humans in the world". And this is not true.
Population in Europe is collapsing and some countries are trying to solve it without success.
Why is this happening?
There are many reasons. In my opinion, the most important one is that life is more expensive now. People need to pay more for food, rent, education, etc. It’s hard to raise a family nowadays. Many couples wait longer to have kids, or decide not to have any.
Also, women now have more freedom and careers. That’s a good thing, but it also means they sometimes choose to focus on work instead of starting a family early. Another problem is uncertainty. Some people don’t feel safe about the future. They worry about money, jobs, wars, climate... So they don’t plan to have kids or postpone the decision.
Governments are trying to help with programs and money for families. But it’s not working enough. France has the highest rate in Western Europe 1.63, but still far from the replacement level of 2. I assume they have a higher number because of mass immigration happening in France.
This is not about judging anyone. But it’s a big challenge. If birth rates stay low, countries will have more old people and fewer young workers. This will make pensions unsistainable and will 100% collapse sooner or later. That's why it's important to save in Bitcoin!
Keep stacking!
