Nature always gives us the most beautiful surprises in every second. But it all depends on each of us, to enjoy it or just ignore it. Like this morning I was not hunting insects, sitting on the terrace enjoying a cup of warm coffee, but my eyes caught something extraordinary among the ornamental plants. I immediately approached to make sure who the mysterious figure was that suddenly appeared there. It turned out to be a caterpillar from the impatiens hawkmoth which in Latin is known as theretra oldenlandiae and comes from the sphingidae family.
The caterpillar was very fat, jet black decorated with orange, red and white. A contrasting combination of colors that looked harmonious. Very beautiful like a painting painted directly by nature itself. I saw the caterpillar twisting at the end of an old stem, as if it was showing off its elegance there. It was extraordinary, I was stunned to see its beauty, as if time was locked for a moment.
