Giving birth to a child is not just about genotype, blood group and so much more. Truly, we inherit our genotypes from one of our parents and our blood group too. Aside from those, there are some other things we inherit from our parents like looks, voice, attitude and so much more. Talking about what or just one thing I inherited from my father and mother are:
What I inherited from my father
A very obvious trait I took from my father is the fact that I don’t give up. My father is like the strongest man I know in the world and that’s why I look up to him all the time. My father has been a factory worker for over thirty years and there are days when he comes home sad, angry or even with injuries when he was dealing with machines. The things he faces at work is enough to make him give up on the job but he goes harder and that’s what brough him this far. I’m not capping but I know he’s a great man and that’s why he gets awarded as the best almost every year at work.
Likewise me, I hardly give up on things and even though it feels like there is no other way, I just make sure I find a way. No matter how difficult a task can be, I don’t run away from it. I always make sure I find a way to get it done. I noticed this and I even realized it more when I got to my present workplace and I’ve been commended a lot of times and that’s a trait I cherish about me. I’m glad I possess this trait.
A trait I got from my mother
My mother is the only one in my house who is not really educated. Due to her father’s death, she could not go for her university education even after she gained admission into the university. I know this can make a lot of people in this condition feel sad and inferior amongst all of her friends who graduated from the university but my mum is someone who is never shy and proud of herself. She’s someone who I don’t think can ever feel inferior no matter where she is and that’s just the way I am too.
There are so many times when I’m supposed to feel inferior. There are so many places I have visited amongst the rich or wealthy people and that can actually make me feel inferior because we’re not as rich as them but instead of that, I always make sure that I think of how to be like them or how to become one of them instead of feeling inferior. To an extent, I’m proud of the level I’ve gotten to in life and if no one praises me, I’d praise myself. I’m not shy of whom I am and that’s why I stand out differently everywhere I go to.
How have they helped me in life?
I’d just put this in one sentence by saying that I have been able to stand out differently from every other person around me. Honestly, I’m not bragging but that’s just what it is and anywhere my name is mentioned, there is always something special to talk about.
Would I love to pass this unto my kids?
Yes, why not? They are good traits so I’m ready to train my kids to never give up and also to be bold wherever they are even though it feels like they are the least person there.
