The first time I realized that title up there, it dawned on me that truly, I need to always do my best and the right thing if I want to leave a positive impact on those coming behind me. I never knew I was being watched or monitored when I was on a writing platform some years ago. One thing I love doing is putting in my effort instead of taking someone's property and claiming it's mine. Through doing it yourself, you improve and develop yourself.
While some would plagiarise and paraphrase the exact content of another person, I was always doing it the right way which was to create my ideas and put them into writing. I got a comment for the first time after a year of being on the platform where the user said I should continue what I have been doing and that I was always a motivation to her which was her reason to stay more active on the platform especially when she wasn't earning well as she expected.
That comment got me emotional and I realised that everyone is being watched, whether you are treading on the right or wrong path. What would you want those behind you to emulate from you? This is a question I ask some people when we are chatting and the conversation has gone deeply as we try to encourage ourselves.
I also had the opportunity to motivate a colleague of mine some time ago and told her to always do the right thing, especially at the place of work we are because nobody knows when we are watched and it is only when the day comes and we start to hear praises here and there.
While some people would want to be noticed to get validation every time, this is something I find wrong because it is obvious they are doing it for validation and not something that comes from their heart to do. Whatever we are doing, it should come straight from our heart and believing that someday, our efforts will be noticed instead of trying to fake it which doesn't go well most times.
Several times, I have gotten positive remarks about me from people because I tend to do my work with diligence, taking it as my responsibility to do and not something I feel someone should praise me for at all cost. When we don't think about the validation of our efforts, we would see how the results would unfold even without us knowing, and that is the greatest remark ever.
We should always know that in whatever we do, we are being watched. If you are doing it right, people are watching. If you are faking it, they are watching too and just like the Holy Bible that says our rewards would be given according to our works, so it is while we are on earth.
This is why we are always encouraged to do the right thing and not wait until we are told to do so. A diligent man who takes his work seriously would get his reward and so, a lazy person who waits to be pushed before doing it would also reap what he has sown. But we should never think no one is watching even while we are hiding from it. Someday we would be shocked when we are told what we have done and how impactful or not it has had on people's lives.
