I was always delighted when she came back with storybooks, even when I knew I couldn't read them yet. The fact that a book was bought for me was enough to spark my joy.
As I grew up, I developed a love for reading books. I could write poems and even started working on a novel. Many people who saw my talent thought I would belong to the art world, but I had other plans. My parents had exposed me to various career choices, and while I loved writing, my dream was to become a medical doctor. I saw medicine as a wide-ranging ambition that would allow me to excel in multiple areas.
