Please don't reblog this post, thank you!
So, sad report today, I had to withdraw a good chunk of Hive in order to pay my bills this month. :( Money has been extra tight of late, and jobs few and far between, and I came up short without it.
I mean, on the one hand, I have always considered Hive to be partially an emergency savings fund, and this was an emergency. But I also try and not do that if I at all can, because I want to build it up so hopefully it can be an actual income some day. And it extra sucks to have to do it while the price is still low. The price has been pretty consistently low for the seven years I've been here, but even a small bump could have made a difference of a hundred Hive or so!
So, I am down 400 Hive. The hit to my HP was about 700 Hive, but once I did my calculations I took the other 300 I didn't need to cash out and I put it into HBD savings, so I can earn that 20% interest and hopefully at least make up a little bit of the loss that way. And hopefully I don't need to withdraw again.
Also, if the market does anything wild, the three day withdrawal period might let me play the market a little? But I'm not counting on that.
Sooooooooo...
Last week I was at 10634.235 HP, and right now I am sitting at 9982.406 HP. Should get that back up over 10k in the next week easily. Plus the nearly 100 HBD in savings.
Also side note, is there something up with downvotes? Because I pretty much never downvote, but it is showing like I did. I even double checked my activities to make sure I didn't mis-click somewhere and I don't see a downvote for the past couple days. And does it hit your RC when you do a withdrawal like I did? The power down is stopped now. When I was under 10k before I don't remember my RC ever going below 100%. Is there a penalty for the power down? I pulled one week's worth to make sure I would have enough for my bills, and then stopped it. I don't think I have powered down since we moved from The Other Blockchain over to Hive and I was pulling from there to bring it over here.
My goals this year are to reach 12k HP and 450 EDS. So, I've just made a bit of a challenge for myself, that's all. ;) Maybe I'll get a few well-voted posts here and there.
What's the Saturday Saver's Club?
It's a club where we support each other in our savings goals, and there are contests where you can win prizes, too! Check it out on the @eddie-earner account if you'd like to join us! :) Have a wonderful week and thanks for reading!
