SSC Update, Week 21 1/2

in #saturdaysavers6 months ago

Please don't reblog this post, thank you!

So, sad report today, I had to withdraw a good chunk of Hive in order to pay my bills this month. :( Money has been extra tight of late, and jobs few and far between, and I came up short without it.

I mean, on the one hand, I have always considered Hive to be partially an emergency savings fund, and this was an emergency. But I also try and not do that if I at all can, because I want to build it up so hopefully it can be an actual income some day. And it extra sucks to have to do it while the price is still low. The price has been pretty consistently low for the seven years I've been here, but even a small bump could have made a difference of a hundred Hive or so!

So, I am down 400 Hive. The hit to my HP was about 700 Hive, but once I did my calculations I took the other 300 I didn't need to cash out and I put it into HBD savings, so I can earn that 20% interest and hopefully at least make up a little bit of the loss that way. And hopefully I don't need to withdraw again.

Also, if the market does anything wild, the three day withdrawal period might let me play the market a little? But I'm not counting on that.

Sooooooooo...

Last week I was at 10634.235 HP, and right now I am sitting at 9982.406 HP. Should get that back up over 10k in the next week easily. Plus the nearly 100 HBD in savings.

Also side note, is there something up with downvotes? Because I pretty much never downvote, but it is showing like I did. I even double checked my activities to make sure I didn't mis-click somewhere and I don't see a downvote for the past couple days. And does it hit your RC when you do a withdrawal like I did? The power down is stopped now. When I was under 10k before I don't remember my RC ever going below 100%. Is there a penalty for the power down? I pulled one week's worth to make sure I would have enough for my bills, and then stopped it. I don't think I have powered down since we moved from The Other Blockchain over to Hive and I was pulling from there to bring it over here.

Moving on!
In the EDS department, I am at 339.45 (last week I was at 339.05, so that's just from my EDS delegation giving me +.4), with an order in for another 3.85 if it ever goes through (I keep getting outbid).

My goals this year are to reach 12k HP and 450 EDS. So, I've just made a bit of a challenge for myself, that's all. ;) Maybe I'll get a few well-voted posts here and there.

What's the Saturday Saver's Club?

It's a club where we support each other in our savings goals, and there are contests where you can win prizes, too! Check it out on the @eddie-earner account if you'd like to join us! :) Have a wonderful week and thanks for reading!

I think we are in the same league. I actually did some power down, almost obliterated my meager HP. Yours is a little better. I just hope I will be able to rebuild in time before the bull run arrives. It would be much easier for you to replinish your HP. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

It's nice to have it there in an emergency, but yeah, here's hoping we can build it back for a bull run! 🐮

It isn’t bad. There are times when we will need some money and Hive will come down to our rescue
I’m sure you’d get it back in no time

Thank you for the vote of confidence. :)

It sounds like you're going through a tough time, but it's great that you have Hive as a backup. Building it up for the future sounds like a solid plan. Hang in there dearest... I'm going to learn from this

If my struggle helps someone else figure out a plan, then that's good! :)

Absolutely.. but I really hope all goes well for you dearest

I’m glad that Hive could save you now that you’re needing some money and you will be able to stake it back in no time

Thank you! :)

Nothing wrong with taking a small step backwards, just keep moving forward and you’ll be back above where u were in no time!

No down votes over here 🤔
That’s odd.

Huh! Maybe the downvote thing was a glitch.

Odd glitch but could be, there have been issues with the nodes past weeks. In a boomer when it comes to that stuff so not sure if that’s possible. But as long as it hadn’t happened more than once I wouldn’t worry 👍

This is why we are on Hive to earn something for our life , no matter how much you withdraw but you're consistent and this matters a lot 🙏💖

Many more to you ❤️

Thanks very much! :)
