Is love enough for marriage? I'm not actually married, of course I will get married. But, lately the world of marriage often scares. Why? Because of the presence of a third person and infidelity. In Islam, building a household is the highest worship, but what if there is infidelity and divorce?
For me, an agreement is the solution to all fears of marriage. Why? In Indonesia, because there is no prenuptial agreement, when a divorce occurs, sometimes underage children are raised by the father. In fact, legally, children under the law are raised by the mother.
Again, women are powerless over the superpower of men in marriage. There is another case, a very famous Indonesian celebrity, her husband is caught in a corruption case. If a corruption case occurs, the government will confiscate a number of prices suspected of being the result of corruption. If there is no prenuptial agreement regarding personal assets, the wife's assets will also be confiscated by the government.
Fortunately, the celebrity made a prenuptial agreement, more specifically the prenuptial agreement discusses the division of assets, which were purchased with the husband's and wife's money. This protects the wife's dignity and can live after the husband is imprisoned. The celebrity is still living comfortably.
Again, is a prenuptial agreement necessary? For me personally, honestly it is very necessary. Why, this is done so that women remain empowered even after marriage. Being a woman is not easy. When married, women often lose their identity.
Moreover, with Indonesian culture where women only become housewives. Housework is unpaid and unpaid work. Meanwhile, the tasks are very many. Starting from cleaning the house to keep it clean and taking care of children.
These two jobs are never finished every day. Some mothers, because of their low economic class, cannot entrust their children to daycare just to enjoy me time as women. Not after giving birth, sometimes women get baby blues. A mental illness after giving birth.
A prenuptial agreement does not mean not loving. But, to overcome a number of unexpected things. Of course, I, I interpret this so that women as wives can remain empowered and continue to find themselves. After marriage, women often lose their identity.
Learning from the case of Indonesian celebrity husbands, making a prenuptial agreement can protect women. However, there are also many happy marriages without making a prenuptial agreement, like our parents before us.
Indeed, there are many people like that, but a prenuptial agreement needs to be interpreted that making a prenuptial agreement does not mean that love is not enough. This is another form of love and support for women to be empowered. That's all I can tell you. We are not arguing about right and wrong, but we are opening up new knowledge.
