Moraine Lake is one of Alberta's gems, as far as nature goes. Its a lake not far from Lake Louise; it used to be a little less known, but I do think in the last while it has become much more popular, even to the point of having a few restrictions on how many visitors it can handle.
I think it is a great place for people of all ages. The lake itself is not to large, so canoeing is very doable here. Also, there is a very easy-going pathway around the lake, which gives you a great view of the surrounding mountains. There are some cabins you can rent that have large windows facing the lake. I have not been inside, but I think you could catch a great morning view from them as the sun rises.
