Hello my dear friends, today I want to share with you the happiness that our son has given us when he received his university degree in the career of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
This is a family dream fulfilled, because it was not only the desire of our son but also of his parents and grandparents, although some of them are no longer physically there, but we know that they will be proud to see this result.
This is one of the happiest days of my life, with a very big emotional charge. I think I was more eager than he was to see his title.
Hola mis estimados amigos, hoy les quiero compartir la felicidad que nos ha dado nuestro hijo al recibir su título de graduado universitario en la carrera de Higiene y Epidemiología.
Este es un sueño familiar cumplido, porque no solo era el anhelo de nuestro hijo sino también de sus padres y abuelos, aunque algunos de ellos ya no están físicamente, pero sabemos que estarán orgullosos de ver este resultado.
Este es uno de los días más felices de mi vida, con una carga emocional muy grande. Yo creo que tenía más deseos que él de ver su título.
The graduation was held in the largest and most important theater in Cuba, the Karl Marx, where the most relevant events take place. In this theater, 38 years ago I also received my university degree. Since we arrived I began to remember my own story and at the same time live a greater happiness, it is a very deep and indescribable feeling.
On this day, all those corresponding to the careers of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana graduated, there were more than 1000 graduates and each one had more than one companion, imagine parents, boyfriends, grandparents, who wants to miss this important moment!
The theater is immense, with a capacity of 5500 seats and was full. All the graduates were on the ground floor and the relatives on the two upper floors. We couldn't sit down, but we preferred it because we went to the corner of one of the balconies and from there we saw our son, who was looking at us with joy too.
La graduación se realizó en el teatro más grande e importante de Cuba, el Karl Marx, donde se realizan los acontecimientos más relevantes. En este teatro, 38 años atrás recibí también mi título universitario. Desde que llegamos comencé a recordar mi propia historia y a la vez vivir una felicidad mayor, es un sentimiento muy profundo e indescriptible.
Este día se graduaron todos los correspondientes a las carreras de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana, eran más de 1000 egresados y cada uno llevaba más de un acompañante, imagínense padres, novios, abuelos, ¡quién se quiere perder este momento tan importante!
El teatro es inmenso, con una capacidad de 5500 butacas y estaba repleto. Todos los graduados estaban en la planta baja y los familiares en los dos pisos superiores. No logramos sentarnos, pero lo preferimos porque fuimos hasta la esquina de uno de los balcones y desde ahí divisamos a nuestro hijo, que nos miraba con alegría también.
The event was very beautiful and exciting, the most outstanding graduates of all careers were honored. The joy of everyone overflowed in each applause for his colleagues.
We could see the moment when they gave him his title, he looked where we were and showed it to us. What great pride I felt at that moment, how much emotion we felt! It is such a beautiful moment that it will remain forever in my memories.
El acto estuvo muy bonito y emocionante, se homenajearon a los graduados más sobresalientes de todas las carreras. La alegría de todos se desbordaba en cada aplauso a sus compañeros.
Pudimos ver el momento en que le entregaban su título, miró hacia donde estábamos y nos lo enseñó. ¡Qué orgullo tan grande sentí en ese momento, cuánta emoción sentimos! es un momento tan lindo que quedará para siempre en mis recuerdos.

In these difficult times we are living in, where inflation dominates the economy, many young people choose to do jobs that bring them quick money. It is very common to see them in private businesses such as restaurants and cafeterias of any category, preparing food, dispatching it, doing cleaning work, custodianship or any other task. In these jobs, no university degree is required and the payment can be daily or weekly.
However, if they are employed in a state workplace, the monthly payment they receive corresponds only to 3 or 4 days of the one they receive from the private business, regardless of whether they are qualified with university degrees.
For this reason, many do not want to study university careers that require a lot of sacrifice both for the hard study and for the economic part, in this sense the family, especially the parents, must play their role and help them as much as possible so that they dedicate themselves to studying and obtain good grades that prepare them for working life.
That was our challenge, it was not easy for any of us, but we achieved our goal. That is why it becomes a dream come true for the whole family, because together with the effort of our son, each one of us did our bit to successfully conclude this important challenge.
Now he can make his way around the world, he is already well prepared and we are proud to have helped him.

En estos tiempos difíciles que estamos viviendo donde domina la inflación en la economía muchos de los jóvenes optan por hacer trabajos que le aporten dinero rápido. Es muy común verlos en los negocios particulares como restaurantes y cafeterías de cualquier categoría, elaborando alimentos, despachándolos, haciendo labores de limpieza, custodio o cualquier otra tarea. En estos trabajos no se necesita título universitario y el pago puede ser diario o semanal.
Sin embargo, si se emplean en un centro laboral estatal el pago que reciben se corresponde a 3 o 4 días del que reciben del negocio privado, sin importar si están calificados con títulos universitarios.
Por esta razón muchos no quieren estudiar carreras universitarias que requieren de mucho sacrificio tanto por el fuerte estudio como por la parte económica, en este sentido la familia sobre todo los padres debemos jugar nuestro papel y ayudarlos en todo lo posible para que se dediquen a estudiar y obtener buenas calificaciones que lo preparen para la vida laboral.
Ese fue nuestro reto, no fue fácil para ninguno de nosotros, pero logramos nuestro objetivo. Por eso es que se convierte en un sueño cumplido para toda la familia, porque junto al esfuerzo de nuestro hijo cada uno puso su granito de arena para concluir con éxitos este importante desafío.
Ahora ya puede abrirse camino por el mundo, ya está bien preparado y nosotros orgullosos de haberlo ayudado.
