Hello friends of this beautiful community Family & Friends. A few days ago, the parents of my son's wife (my daughter-in-law) decided to make a getaway from their far away Surgidero and came back home. All together we decided to take a walk. My son and his wife love each other, and the whole family is happy with this union. Being our most precious seeds, we do our best to please them. So, without a second thought, we went for a walk on the cobblestones of the historic center of Old Havana.
Hola amigos de esta hermosa comunidad Family & Friends. Hace unos días, los padres de la mujer de mi hijo (mi nuera) decidieron hacer una escapada desde su lejano Surgidero y volvieron a casa. Todos juntos decidimos dar un paseo. Mi hijo y su mujer se quieren, y toda la familia está feliz con esta unión. Al ser nuestras semillas más preciadas, hacemos todo lo posible por complacerles. Así que, sin pensarlo dos veces, salimos a pasear por los adoquines del centro histórico de La Habana Vieja.
Walking through those cobblestone streets is something I adore. It always fills me with excitement. Rarely do we have the opportunity to take this walk together, as work and other commitments often prevent us from doing so. However, this time my heart was filled with joy as we were able to share this journey back in time together.
Pasear por esas calles empedradas es algo que adoro. Siempre me llena de emoción . Rara vez tenemos la oportunidad de hacer este paseo juntos, ya que el trabajo y otros compromisos a menudo nos lo impiden. Sin embargo, esta vez mi corazón se llenó de alegría al poder compartir juntos este viaje en el tiempo.
My mother, who is well past 75, was a little uncomfortable walking on the cobblestones, but there was no way she would miss this walk. She is very determined and never wants to miss anything, but we had to slow down to take care of her. We all pampered her and tended to her lovingly.

We went down Calle de los Oficios and passed by the Mambí car, a railroad car once used by Cuban presidents, that's why it was called the presidential car. It is a relic of the railroad. We took a picture in front of it.

Further on, we came across the statue of the Chevalier de Paris. I still remember when I was a child and I always saw him with many newspapers in his hands and a long gray beard. There is no visitor to Havana who does not go to see that statue and, almost as a tradition, touch his beard or his index finger of the left hand. There are many myths about it, but I think they are just that, myths. I always imagine him as a real person who prowled the streets of Havana and retained fine manners despite his unkempt appearance.
Más adelante, nos encontramos con la estatua del Caballero de París. Todavía recuerdo cuando era una niña y siempre lo veía con muchos periódicos entre sus manos y una larga barba canosa. No hay visitante de La Habana que no vaya a ver esa estatua y, casi como una tradición, toquen su barba o su dedo índice de la mano izquierda. After walking near the Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, we made our way to the Alameda de Paula. All along the way, it seemed as if we had been teleported to another era. We were all so united, enjoying the atmosphere and the time together.
Después de caminar cerca de la Plaza de San Francisco de Asís, nos dirigimos a la Alameda de Paula. Durante todo el recorrido, parecía como si nos hubieran teletransportado a otra época. Íbamos todos tan unidos, disfrutando del ambiente y del tiempo juntos.
A bit tired, we made a stop at the Almacenes San José, a fairground that has cafeterias. We decided to have a snack because we already had a bit of an appetite. We had hamburgers and ice cream. I must say that the gastronomic service is quite informal, but the food is of very good quality. The place has a bohemian and artistic air that captivated us.
Un poco cansados, hicimos una parada en los Almacenes San José, un recinto ferial que cuenta con cafeterías. Decidimos merendar porque ya teníamos algo de apetito. Comimos hamburguesas y helados. Debo decir que el servicio gastronómico es bastante informal, pero la comida es de muy buena calidad. El lugar tiene un aire bohemio y artístico que nos cautivó.
It was a beautiful family outing that we all enjoyed very much. As always, we all look forward to a repeat. It was an exquisite afternoon in which we enjoyed the place and each other's company.
Fue un hermoso paseo en familia que todos disfrutamos mucho. Como siempre, todos anhelamos que se repita. Fue una tarde exquisita en la que disfrutamos del lugar y de la compañía mutua que nos brindamos.
