Kidnappings are one of the nightmares no human being would ever want to endure. Sadly, it’s one of the risks to which any type of person is exposed, regardless of social class or the size of their bank account.
A few days ago, I was reading an article that dealt precisely with kidnappings around the world. It highlighted that in some countries—Mexico, for example—there is an extremely high annual rate of kidnappings.
The paradox is that the kidnapping industry spares no one. Poor people are also exposed; some ransoms don’t exceed $500. Imagine such an atrocious crime committed for such a small sum.
The tragedy is that regardless of the ransom amount demanded, these are often sums that families of the kidnapped struggle to gather.
Fatally, not all kidnappers release their victims even after payments are made, and in the process, many suffer all kinds of abuse.
For all these reasons, if I were ever—God forbid—kidnapped and could choose any fictional character to rescue me, I would undoubtedly choose my namesake from Game of Thrones, Arya Stark.
Arya Stark demonstrated incredible resilience in the face of adversity and an unyielding spirit of justice, which led her to take on immense challenges to acquire the skills needed to fulfill her vengeance.
Arya would be capable of changing her face to infiltrate any place stealthily, ensuring a successful rescue even if she had to fight. Her swordsmanship would guarantee victory against any number of enemies.

For Game of Thrones fans, there are many other heroes or villains one might entrust with their rescue. Take @les90, for example, who also considered Arya Stark among their potential saviors, but ultimately chose her bastard brother Jon Snow—undoubtedly another excellent alternative, because the North never forgets.

Lo paradójico es que la industria del secuestro no deja indemne a nadie. Los pobres también están expuestos, algunos rescates no superan los 500 dólares. Se imaginan un crimen tan atroz cometido por una suma tan pequeña.
Lo malo es que sin importar el monto exigido por un rescate, siempre suelen ser sumas difíciles de alcanzar por las familias de los secuestrados.
Fatídica mente, no todos los secuestradores entregan a las víctimas aunque se hayan realizado los pagos, y en el proceso muchas de las mismas sufren todo tipo de vejaciones.
Por todo lo anterior, si alguna vez, no lo permita Dios, sufriera un secuestro y pudiera elegir a cualquier personaje del mundo de la ficción para rescatarme, sin dudas elegiría a mi homónima de Games of Thrones, Arya Stark.
Arya Stark demostró una resiliencia increíble ante la adversidad y un espíritu de justicia implacable, lo que la llevó a asumir desafíos inmensos para lograr alcanzar las habilidades necesarias para llegar al cumplimiento de su venganza.

Para los seguidores de Game of Thrones, habrán más opciones de héroes o villanos a quienes uno podría apostar su rescate, como en el caso de @les90 que entre las opciones de posibles salvadores consideró también a Arya Stark entre sus diversos personajes, pero en su casó se decantó por su hermano bastardo John Snow, que sin dudas también es una excelente alternativa porque el Norte jamás olvida.
