A tremendous amount of the significant things we see in the world today that differentiates it from the world 50 years ago is driven by the advancement and massive adoption of technology in our day-to-day activities. Whether this is a good sign or not is usually dependent on the person handling each technology and the use case the person is giving to it.
A typical example would be the usage of a smartphone to connect to the Internet. You obviously know that there are people who are leveraging their access to the internet and using that to achieve a lot of admirable and morally conscious stuff. Others connect to the internet to engage in activities that amount to no good at all.
This is why it's usually hard to talk about the role technology has been playing in shaping our future without discussing the positive and negative impact of these techs.
However, it almost seems like some people are edging more towards embracing the negatives. The truth of the matter is that there have been a series of powerful technological advancements that have been impactful in improving the health sector, agricultural sector, construction and so many other areas of life.
The HEALTH SECTOR in particular is one I'm particularly impressed about. Can you imagine what would have been the case at every interval when pandemic happened some 100 years ago and beyond? Imagine the number of lives that took especially in the part of the world which are very slow in recognizing what's going on. How long would it even take to come up with something close to a vaccine?
The availability of technology and its adoption in the health sector have made it increasingly easier for medical practitioners to conduct research and come up with solutions to a lot of health challenges. Now, people casually go for all sorts of surgery without too much worry because there have been several track records of others who successfully passed through that surgery.
The usage of technology for INFORMATION CIRCULATION is another use case of technology that's massively shaping our world. Although the media and News agencies are being used at several intervals to trap people in a matrix with asymmetric and perspective-based information, the effect of technology on the wide circulation of info is still something that can't be overlooked.
It's left for you to be sure you fact-check whatever info you get from any News agency or from someone's post on Twitter, etc.
The point is that technology is playing a big part in shaping our world and it's left for each tech user to be sure that he/she is using these techs for a good use case. That's how we will play a part in making sure that these techs will shape the world for good.
