More than that, is that you face the world and world issues for the first time, and have no other reference point. So sort issues out you either have friends or other adults. Sometimes the only adult is your parents.
That’s a really good point. I think that lack of a reference point is a huge part of it, we learn how to understand the world through the people around us, specially our parents when we’re young. Even when we eventually develop our own perspectives, some of those early influences stay with us in ways we don’t always recognize.
