RE: Ogden's Nut Gone Flake

in Music8 months ago

So much music arrived back then, each group of friends varied in influence or finding something well worthwhile listening to.

Never having much excess cash in hand often bought our taste, as a group of friends we went from home to home to enjoy each persons collection in music, almost a done thing back then.

Sort:

Same here, it was a luxury having your own LP, we'd often do a borrow-swop, a good way to make sure no-one forgot to return.
I had pop and classics, from one extreme to the other!
I could kick myself for throwing my little collection out, did that a couple of years ago before they came back into vogue😒
Our voting station wasn't too hectic, got my mark just now.
All is calm for now, till the politicians start instigating unrest!

We used to enjoy visiting each others homes listening to music, many had back room flats converted by the parents to avoid the noise....

Spent many hours listening to new releases in Jo'burg music shops, booths at the back with headphones. After listening to a track or more, pop over the road to coffee bar meet-up spot, discuss and decide to buy or not, a monthly event!

I still have our full collection very carefully packed away, need to sort and sell in pre-loved store for sure.

Vote went smoothly here, went down midday beautiful sunny day too! Snow possibly arriving next week from the 2nd, more than likely with loadshedding and all our other favourite things like unrest....

You were wise, keeping your collection! You may just be sitting on gold there. I read an article about the astronomical value of limited editions of some old LPs. It was interesting to see the reasons why they stopped printing them.
Our voting also went smoothly, my gardener and I went after lunch, it was in and out.
Yep, waiting for loadshedding to start again!
I wish the weather could stay as it is now, just perfect 👌

I did a diary of each LP in the collection over the years when purchasing, never had the heart to sell off as they are in fantastic condition.

Now the waiting game to see how everything went, hopefully no skulduggery along the line!

Weather has been superb!
