RE: Book Review: Bahiyya’s Eyes

What a hard but necessary story. The blindness as a metaphor for the pain accumulated by years of oppression shook me. It's amazing how Rifaat turns something physical (the flies, the dirt) into a symbol of so many silenced tears. Your review does justice to that silent struggle. Would you recommend other African authors with similar themes?

Hey there, @jessuses1381
It is nice that you got the message. Indeed, you are a book lover.

If you're interested in other works, I recommend “God Dies by the Nile” by Nawal El Saadawi.
