Nice strategy, never knew such an option existed; where you can pay extra money to cancel the principal thereby reducing the interest rate, I need to check if it's only in your home country. Nevertheless mortgages are always the worst loan tht people have, I don't blame them it has a long tenure usually and that makes it quite easy to forget it and the next thing you know the bills are too big to pay.
