It strikes me that the tide line looks so far away. I find it hard to imagine that at some point the sea could ever get over the barrier, but surely it must have passed.

The design of the lines gives lots of ideas for photography. You were very lucky that the subject was there because it helps to get an idea of the size of the barrier.

The photos are very nice. I imagine that in the afternoon when the light comes in from the side you must get some very nice photos.

Some of our beaches are very flat, so the tide goes a long way out. But trust me in the winter, with the winds, when it is high tide then yes the water spray comes over the wall!
