For this week's prompt, I want to write on my food choices as I try to maintain a healthy balance with my meals. I make a conscious decision to plan what I eat each week as this even helps with unnecessary spending.
To stay on track I plan my purchases mostly around healthy choices. I prioritize them over junk food so I mostly buy groceries like whole grains, proteins, fruits and vegetables. I try not to give into impulse buying as that is mostly how I avoid snacks and junk food
Meal preparation also helps me eat healthy for the most part. I prepare my meals with the healthy options I purchase and usually try to make varieties of meals daily so as not to get bored and seek for other options. I particularly like veggies in my meals and use plenty of them to keep me interested and full. For instance when I have rice, I like to eat it with coleslaw or add some leafy vegetables to balance it up or I just eat some fruits or cucumbers and nuts when I crave a snack.
I do not completely eliminate junk food in my diet as I still have room for indulging in some cakes and pastries once in a while or during outings but I do not have them as much as I have my daily meals and sometimes after eating them I like to have long hours of fast and physical activities before I eat again. I also try to eat mostly when I'm hungry and drink a lot of water to stay hydrated and avoid consuming too much.
