Its week 7 (17/02/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.
My goals for this year are:
- Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
- Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).
I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.
This weeks pic - My wife, daughter and I went to the National Museum of Scotland yesterday afternoon, here in Edinburgh, for a nice walk around, and I caught this interesting view of a great cat skull, with the backdrop of the main museum hall behind it. We had gone to see an exhibition on wildlife photography which was pretty cool. It was a great way to spend a friday afternoon.
Weekly Stats
Weekly commentary
- HP Gain: I gained +106 HP during the week which was more than I expected considering I've not been so active. The low price of HIVE has continued to help with the payouts from posts. So I'm very happy considering its over the magic 100 HP mark, which I was not expecting.
- HP Passive: 17.36 of my HP gain this week came from curation (+10.72HP, not really passive - but my highest ever weekly curation income to date) and HP APR (+6.64 HP - it took a tiny dip this week because APR is currently down to 2.95% from 3.00% the previous week). Its great to see this value hitting 17 HP for the week, for the first time, and I'm enjoying seeing the combined figure on an upward trend in general - its a great incentive to keep on stacking HP,
- HP goal: My HP total now stands at 11697 HP and I need a further 6803 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 45 weeks to go, that requires 149 per week (no change), which is pretty steep and will be quite a challenge,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +9HP to 2085 HP. I need to delegate another 915 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 20 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: I delegated another +8 HP to @curangel to bring that total to 173. The aim to to take that to 250 HP - only 77 to go now !,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream, - EDS: I gained +0.88 EDS. My 2085 HP delegation to @eds-vote didnt payout this week. I'm assuming that was due to the reported node issues, and I assume it will catch-up when things get back to normal. The gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those) and the weekly drip from holding 7 EDSD (which was 0.04 EDS this week). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
- EDSD: I didnt add any EDSD this week while the price of HIVE is so low. I'd rather use HBD to buy HIVE at these prices. I'll wait for it to go back above $0.35 before I start buying EDSD again,
- DAB: I gained +2.323 DAB this week, taking my total to 60.659 DAB. I'm always happy when I'm getting more than 2 DAB per week.
- DBOND: I gained +2 DBOND taking my total to 734 (from staking my DAB). That gain was actually from a purchase. I didnt get any DBOND from holding DAB this week, again due to the issue with the node. It will catch-up once the node issues get fixed,
- DRIP: I gained +2 DRIP this week, taking my total to 111, which is a result of the daily passive gains over the week from staking the DRIP I already have,
- HBD:HIVE Trading: My lowest set trade is at $0.33 and there were a couple of price spikes this week so I did manage to complete 7 trades, all at low gains. I wasnt quite expecting this, and even though the gains were low (2.69 HIVE in total), they are still gains, so there is absolutely no complaints from me about that !
Plan for the coming week
- Regular Posting: To continue to make sure I post daily/regularly to ensure daily HBD and HIVE author rewards (although I havent been managing so well on this front since the start of the year, so I need to get back into the rhythm).
- **Posting via Inleo: ** I've been actively using Inleo more for posting which should help give a boost to my LEO income, especially with the Leo-ADs initiative now kicking in. I'm still considering whether I should also get premium or not. I'm likely to try it for a month at some point soon to see if it gives an even bigger boost to post payouts (for both LEO and HIVE) due to their curation boosts,
- Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. My curation is mostly manual and I mostly try to keep my voting mana between 80 to 90%,
- Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
- HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading (as long as the price is above $0.33). I'll continue to add additional funds (in small amounts) to my trading capital each week, in the active trading range, when I'm trading, which will help grow the gains over the long term (albeit slowly). I do this by adding any HIVE/HBD drips I get landing in my Hive Wallet from things like curation. When a trade goes through, I then just add any amount left in the wallet from those drips into the next flip trade when I set it up - this method has been working nicely to help slowly grow my trading fund in the active trading range, which is great,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 11 HP,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 11 HP to my @curangel delegation.
- EDSD: My aim has been to buy 1-2 EDSD per week to help build up my pot of those, and in turn my EDS stack, but as said above, I'll pause buying while the price of HIVE is so low until it recovers to around $0.35.
Summary
In summary, it was a good week. I wasnt expecting my HP gain to be as high as 106 HP because I havent been as active, so I'll take that as a win. I'm pretty busy in life and work at the moment which is impacting my Hive time, and will do for a good few weeks more. That happens, and I'll get more active again when I can.
My Tribe Token Investment Project
My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along nicely. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.
I'm due another rebalance and will hopefully undertake it sometime this weekend. It continues to build slowly which is great. A couple of bigger post payouts would help to kick start it that bit better. Token values have also been down a little of late which hasnt helped, however, its still all positive, with total number of tokens increasing at each rebalance which is the main aim. Its great to see the various methods of curation, posting, staking and rebalancing all working in tandem. You can check out my latest rebalance post on my @hoosieboy alt account here.
And as a reminder:
- This weeks Savers of the Week post went live on friday (here). The awards for those selected are quite nice now ! We are looking for inciteful content that shows how you are saving, growing and investing. Each of the 4 nominees gets 15% of the notification post payout and 4 HSBIs - so it can work out as a nice little boost to all selected ! So make sure you are creating your weekly savings posts, and tagging them in the comments of the weekly post from susie-saver on the @eddie-earner account - you've got a very good chance of getting selected !
