The private run businesses are usually operated at better levels than government own.
While the government businesses are made for everyone to be able to afford it.
I am a fan of government owned organizations because I know that the citizens are considered in the running of the business unlike the private owned centres that is only concerned about profit.
The private sector is usually up to date with instruments and techniques as there's always competition which makes everyone to sit up. But the government owned businesses are not like this.
I believe that maintaining the current situation is the best. That is to say that having centres both for Govt. Owned and private owned is still ok.
This would give citizens the chance to decide on which business to patronize after careful consideration.
In the healthcare system, private hospitals are expensive, more expensive than government owned hospitals. But the private clinics are properly funded and equiped to provide optimal care.
But because the private is more interested in profit, they may employ quacks or under qualified candidates and this would lead to Serious problems if not well taken care of or if the regulatory bodies don't follow up the various hospitals.
When it comes to job fulfilment for the workers in both sectors, you observe that the workers are being grossly underpaid in the private sector.
This still boils down to the search for excess profit.
In the government sector on the other hand, workers are usually better paid than the private counterparts.
I also know that there is more job security with government employment than with private.
The terms pension and gratuity have all come to my hearing when discussing government employment, I don't think the private owned enterprises have such futuristic plans for their employees.
If both options are kept open that is both the government owned and private businesses, it puts the decision making power in the hands of the citizens to decide where to go. I believe this is better than outrightly handing everything to private or to government.
Because the greed may become too much and the private partnerships decide to inflate prices beyond reasonable ranges.
If only government is allowed to handle sectors of the economy, they will run it down like they always do. Then when the buoyant or financially stable individual decides that he needs better alternatives to the care he is being given, he won't find it.
Balance should be the watchword as both sides have their pros and cons.
Another alternative would be to enter into partnerships with both sectors and that way, the pros of both are mixed while the disadvantages are eliminated.
We have seen this being carried out before in some hospitals and some energy distribution companies and it is quite productive.
