Life is full of decisions and whichever one you take could either make you or destroy you. In a simple term you are the product of your decision. Decision making is a critical aspect of life because is a point where you would not be on the fence instead you must take a step and do something. The theme for this edition is really inspiring and almost took my all time reflecting and thinking on what to write hmmm this was a critical decision I had to make.
I could remember when I was much younger coming up, I just have to make decision concerning where to stay and complete my secondary school studies. It was not easy and never knew the implication but had to do it even in my ignorance. The bottom line is that a decision had been made. As one grows or outweighs a stage to another, the place of decision can't be overlooked. I lived with my parents earlier in a particular community because transfer brought them. After few years of service, the leadership decided to transfer them to another place. When I discovered that following them will alter my educational pursuits I made a critical decision not to go with them instead to stay in an apartment alone. That was the decision that really gave me bearing in life as far as academic pursuit is concerned.
Every decision has its repercussion either positive or negative. From the brief life experience I shared, I faced the consequences of such decisions. I had to raise some resources upset my bills. It wasn't everything I beckon on them for help. I started learning how to be self independent and how to take further decisions. Though some friends came around to lure me but I was able to discern their intensions.
Here are some steps in making decisions. The first thing is to talk to God in the place of prayer for direction. Don't make any decision while you are angry. This may cause you take the wrong decision because the entire body system might not be ok. Ensure that the mind is stable. Another factor to consider before making decision is to endeavour to weigh the implication a little bit before proceeding with any decision. Don't make decision because of the third of party but also consider your interest because of the repercussion.
How long does it take to make major decisions? Hmmm in life there are major decisions and minor decision. The minor decision are usually simple decision we make almost everyday of our lives like eating, moving, going to toilet, bathing etc. While on the other side the major decisions includes marriage, investing into a business etc. Sincerely it takes me time to consider a major decision. For instance it took me a year and half to court my wife before I finally married her. This kind of decision you don't rush it because whatever that becomes the outcome you will bear it. Financial decision too is somehow difficult but one must just take the risk.
How do I cope with disappointment? There are countless times that my decision wasn't considered. If my decision is turned off, many times I find it difficult to accept the new change. Sometimes when one is disappointed if not properly managed could lead to frustration and later suicidal attempt.
Generally decision is critical thing in life that one must be careful in taking it because of its repercussion. One thing I often pray for is grace to be able to make the right decision always. Decision making is not easy.
